Spectris plc, the precision instrumentation and controls company, announces the appointment of Steve Hare as Group Finance Director. He will take up his position on 1 December 2004 when he will also become a member of the Spectris Board.
Steve, 43, joins Spectris from hba partners, a consultancy he co-founded in 2003. Immediately prior to this Steve held the position of Chief Financial Officer and was a Board member of Marconi PLC, where he was instrumental in achieving agreement for the successful financial restructuring package. He also oversaw a business divestment programme which raised in excess of £2bn over a twelve month period.
Prior to joining Marconi in 1997, Steve worked for eight years with GPT Limited (a joint venture between GEC and Siemens), where he worked his way up through the finance functions to become Group Finance Director.
Steve is a Chartered Accountant and obtained a Batchelor of Commerce from Liverpool University.
