Spectris plc, the precision instrumentation and controls company, announces the appointment of Clive Watson as Group Finance Director. He will take up the position on 1 October 2006 when he will also become a member of the Spectris Board.
Clive joins Spectris from Borealis where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Business Support since 2001. Borealis is a leading provider of plastics solutions with an annual turnover of around €5 billion. Prior to joining Borealis, Clive held the position of Group Finance Director at Thorn Lighting Ltd. Before Thorn Lighting, Clive worked for 11 years at The Black & Decker Corporation in a variety of finance roles, most recently as Group Finance Director Europe. Clive started his working career with Arthur Andersen & Co where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Clive holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce & Accounting from the University of Birmingham.
